DEATHRASH Announces 'New' Drummer

September 13, 2006

Bassist/founding member Pat Burns of the reunited New Jersey thrashers DEATHRASH has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"DEATHRASH has found a new drummer! Actually it's our original drummer, Marc Grossman, who formed the band with me in 1985. Marc left to pursue other interests in 1986 and that's when we got Tony Scaglione [WHIPLASH, SLAYER] to help us with the 'Faces of Death' demo.

"Marc came up to NJ last weekend and for the first time in 19 years DEATHRASH played with a complete lineup, and it sounded better than ever. We ran through DEATHRASH classics such as 'Lockjaw', 'Feel You Die', 'Blood For Blood', 'Heart Of The Darkness', 'A Time To Slay' and, of course, 'Buried Alive'.

"We are in the process of mixing and mastering the 'Faces Of Death' demo and live tracks from '86-'87, and are now going to record the new songs 'Unfinished Business', 'Thrash Beyond Death' and the 2006 'Buried Alive' for the 'Thrash Beyond Death' CD. The CD is taking longer than expected because we want everything to be perfect and we wanted the full original line up on the new recordings: John Scherer (vocals),Pat Burns (bass),Pat 'Nemo' Nemeth (guitar),Tim Scherer (guitar) and Marc Grossman (drums).

"I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive with their posts and e-mails, you won't be disappointed. The band can be reached at [email protected] or by going to www.deathrash.net.

"ONCE MORE BACK IN THE PITS, 'CAUSE WE HAVE UNFINISHED BUSINESS!!!"
